A Reprieve
2006-03-20, 1:47 p.m.

Day 575 A Reprieve from the Realtor

Turns out we dont HAVE to be at the closing down in Florida. We can get Bob to sign off on all the paperwork ahead of time and turn it in to the realtor before the closing. That is sooooo sweet. Should also get details worked out with the movers this week. Might be all we have to do when I get down there is supervise the packing process, send out 6 or 7 billion change of address notifications, and try to empty the fridge & freezer. This trip is starting to look not too awful. Might even try to get in a couple of days of tanning time. Whats even better is that we might actually get back in New York by Saturday evening, leaving Sunday for R & R time and a trip to the gym.

Saturdays weigh in at the gym sucked. No progress this week. I must be inhaling fat calories in my sleep or something. Cant be the raisins Ive been pounding down by the fistful a couple of times a day, could it? Hmmmm.

Monday mornings workout? Ho-hum. Didnt get on evil machine #9 at least. Think Ive decided which heart rate monitor to get. Itll be a Reebok FS2 or 3. Very similar to a couple of Polar models, with one critical exception. The Reeboks have a user replaceable battery in the sensor body. The Polars in the same price range do not. They must be sent back to the factory for replacement. Convenient? Not so much. You can get Polars with replaceable batteries, but those models come with so many other bells & whistles the price is bloated beyond belief (like >$200) The Reebok model also has a stopwatch function on the wrist band so it can double as a plain old timer too. Still looking at about an $80 investment.

Bowling balls are another story. Looking to change the shape of my standard shot. Want a ball with the newer reactive resin coverstock and space age weight block technology. I can find the balls I want on line for $140. Still need to get them drilled. Going to check out the local pro shops and see what they can do price wise and if their price includes drilling. Getting a new ball this time of year gives me an excuse to go bowling on rainy days this coming summer. Always a fun idea.

I have to go find a particular circuit board at the zoo here. I need to get some testing accomplished and lack of a particular variety of circuit board is bogging me down. So is continuing this entry, so I better cut it out, huh?

Updated stats:

Weight start: 206.5 on 1/1/06 (265.0 on 1/15/05)
Current weight 199.25 on 3/10/06 (Zippo for progress!! I must be subconciously cheating)
Target: 180 by 7/1/06
Next weigh in: 3/25/06

The Keep on Truckin goal: (idea stolen shamelessly from Marns Big Adventure)
Miles at speed 3/16/06: 214.06
Miles with cooldown: 235.87
Target for 2006: 1000 miles

Might have to add a little something for the 5K training too.
