Day 803 Down to the Wire

NaBloPoMo #3

No work out this morning. First Friday off in ages. Makes me feel lazy. Have to do a double Saturday to atone for it.

My Alma Maters Girls soccer team was playing in the sectional championship game tonight. Went out and watched them go at it. Thirty five degrees, and Im out there in a lined windbreaker. Damn, it was cold. Eighty minutes of regulation, we had a 1 to 1 tie. Four 10 minute overtimes, we still had a 1-1 tie. Our girls had some great chances, but couldnt seal the deal. So after 120 minutes of freezing soccer (played on an astroturf field at a local college) , we have New York State Section V co-champions.

The girls then had to do a shoot out to determine who would advance to the play-ins for the state championships. We were way too cold to stay and watch. We beat feet to the nearest Roadkill Grill and warmed up. Now were waiting to hear all about it on the 11:00 news.

Tomorrow, our alma maters boys team also plays for the sectional championship. Ill be dressing a wee bit warmer for that one, I assure you.
