Day 820 Start the Short Week

NaBloPoMo #18

Its like its Wednesday already, what with only 3 days to go this week. Maybe Ill even take Wednesday itself off and have a nice 5 day weekend. Theres a slim chance well have both boys home simultaneously for a few hours then, for the first time since August. Theyll both have their girlfriends with them, so well have a real houseful for a bit.

Then Zach & Jill are off to spend Thanksgiving with her parents. Z-man will be back Friday night so he can toil in Wegmans warehouses over the weekend. Jill wont be back till Sunday evening, but well have Eric & Kelly with us from Wed. evening through Sunday evening. Gonna be really good to see them all again. Been way too long.

Finally got back to the gym this morning. Late start (again) so it was cardio only, but still felt good to get in a good burn. Wasnt as fast as I thought itd be, probably due to getting to bed late last night.

Slowly reviewing all my code. Finding goofy little errors, nothing thats currently causing problems, just gaps in coding that could allow funky things to happen if the timing shifts due to temperature, device die changes, gravitational attraction of the moon, subtle things like that.

Next I get to go through and start doing compiles into smaller, slower (and less expensive) parts. For the early proto systems we use the big guys because of the extra resources available for debugging. Once production starts, we cut back to save $$. Drops the bottom line for the end user. Always a big deal.

Hmmm just got a note from my brother. Seems his daughter is getting out of school a day earlier than expected. Hes got tickets to the Sabres game tonight, wants to know if I can run to the next county over and pick up my niece tonight. 30 minute one way trip. Suppose that beats the 4 hour drive to her school. Plus the tickets he has are for corporate box seats something his wife scored through work. Cant let those tickets go to waste now, can we? Besides, itll be nice to spend a bit of time with Liz and see what shes been up to. I can do a sweep of all the familys college students in the next couple of days and see whats shakin on campuses across the state. What to do with that information I may never know, but its interesting to see what the kids are up to.

Lordy, just think my youngest can buy beer now. Legally. Next year, Liz will be able to. My brothers and I are all starting to get old, arent we? Better go find my cane.

Updated stats:

Current weight: 188 on 11/4/06 (Out of the rut, but in the wrong direction)
Next weigh in: 1/18/06 (if I dare)

New target Aim is 180, by Christmas. Better get it in gear.
