Without Further Ado . . .
2007-10-26, 8:26 a.m.

Day 1160

It was Wednesday. Cindy & I had just wrapped up our couples therapy session and were having dinner at a fine establishment just down the road from Annettes office. Round about 6:30, Cindys phone goes off. Its Zach. Wants to know where we are. Cindy answers. Zach then wants to know when well be home. Cindy told him wed meet him there about 7:00.

We already suspect whats going on, with a very high degree of certainty.

When we get home, Cindys leftovers get put in the fridge. The kids are hot on our tails.

Turns out that this guy

Actually got down on one knee and asked this girl

To accept this ring

and FINALLY make it official.

We couldnt be more thrilled. Best part was even though Jill picked out the ring, she was still surprised with the presentation.

Theres no official date picked yet, but theyre thinking sometime in May of 2009. You can be sure Jill has taken notes at every wedding theyve attended so far (4) and will be attending next year (3 that they know of now). Im just glad were the parents of the groom!!

Back to the mundane.

Bowling last night? Personally, I did ok. Bested my average by 44 pins which should translate to another 1 or 2 pin increase in the average. Finally getting back to respectable. Team wise, we struggled. Trailed in all 3 games. We gave up 87 pins in handicap, so starting behind was a given. But we never seemed to close the gap. Ended up losing the first by 44, lost the second by 23, then finally won the third by 35 or so. Couldnt quite recover enough to win totals. Now, after going 14 2 the last two weeks and not moving up, one 2 6 week will probably cost us a position or two in the standings. Its early. We have plenty of time to do worse. Maybe I should start a little beer therapy while bowling. Seemed to work for the other team last night.

Spinning this morning? Well, it was Gary the sadistic, uphill sprinting bastard again. Legs felt tired 10 minutes in and didnt wake up till 10 minutes before the end. Just a struggle this morning. Need to get to bed sooner.

.

Time to go ponder what itll be like actually having a daughter now. But ya know? I think that part will be easy. Its the impending grandparent hood thats kinda got me on my heels a bit. Am I really that old? Its not like I fart dust or anything (trust me on THAT one). But grampa? Geeze geezer. At least Jills parents are already grandparents (3x over) and they seem ok with it. Just another adjustment to make, eh?

Lead engineer is out today, so I get to play the part. Better get me butt off to work. Really only have one meeting to chair in the leads stead, the rest of the day will be spent doing what I normally have to do anyhow its just that were nearing the end of a project and the paper work is really stacking up. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Our favorite part
