Day 1183
Only stopping in for a quick update. Very tiring weekend, but had tons of fun. Hunting, brothers birthday party, raking, raking & more raking of the damn leaves.
I can sum up the weekend with one very nice picture. If youre squeamish, dont go look. But the picture? Popped Zachs cherry this weekend, so to speak. It was a weekend of several firsts for the young man.

Zachs first deer. A buck with a 7 point rack. First deer for that gun too. First deer that Zach had to field dress (with pointers & assistance). Had to drag his butt all the way back to the van too nearly a half mile through the woods.
Spent Sunday raking leaves and butchering the deer. Figure to get about 50 60 pounds of meat out of him. Lots of stew meat, some nice backstrap medallions, some meat for chili and a bunch for grinding & making sausage. Now if we can just get one for the old man . . .
